Riverton City Park is the largest park in the community and hosts many of the most popular events in town. This beautiful park was re-opened in 2015 after an extensive renovation and is 31 acres in size.

Playgrounds

The City Park is Riverton’s flagship and largest park. It offers (6) buildings, tennis, basketball, pickleball, and volleyball courts, playgrounds, a splash pad, rodeo grounds & bleachers, and more. This park is a popular destination for youth sports programs during the summer.

Several city parks have reservable pavilions that can be reserved for organized gatherings. Bounce houses are allowed at these parks but must be accompanied by a certificate of insurance listing Riverton City as an additional insured. Riverton City is also opening two new parks within the next couple of years on the west side of town. These parks will be a great addition to the neighborhood and community. Picnic Areas

Neighbors in Riverton enjoy a close-knit community that values family and faith. The city is also an outdoor lovers’ paradise, with parks and a mountain trail that spans 45 miles.

Residents can enjoy the scenery and take in the fresh air on nine paved trails and walking paths. A favorite among families is the Jordan River Trail, which offers stunning mountain views and a variety of recreational opportunities.

If you’re planning a picnic, make sure to reserve one of the City Park’s reservable pavilions. Otherwise, picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis at other parks. Basketball Courts

Those who like to get some exercise with friends can take advantage of the basketball courts at Riverton City Park. These outdoor hard courts have permanent lines and nets and are free to use.

Residents will also appreciate the fact that Riverton has a number of other great outdoor spaces with wide-open green areas, three playgrounds, and a skate park. The nearby Unita-Wasatch-Cache National Forest offers a variety of hiking, biking, and ATV trails.

Homes in Riverton are zoned for the Jordan School District and many parents will find that the schools have excellent reputations. The town is home to Southland Elementary, Midas Creek School, Oquirrh Hills Middle School, and Riverton High School. The Boy’s and Girl’s teams are both off to a good start this season. With plenty of experience and leadership on both sides, a Region 3 title and a state-run are possible for these young Silverwolves.

Rodeo Arena

Located south of Draper, Riverton enjoys a booming economy and top-notch schools. The community offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities including hiking, camping, and driving tours. Residents are also close to the ski resorts of Park City and Alta.

The annual Town Days Rodeo attracts thousands of visitors. Spectators can see flag skydivers and watch hot air balloons at this event. Other activities include a chuckwagon cook-off and the Town Days Cornhole Tournament. This tournament is offered in both recreational and competitive divisions and winning teams will receive prizes.
